Where is your studio based?
My studio is based at the Custard Factory in Birmingham.
How many family members can come along to my shoot?
Due to the space in my studio I am currently able to accommodate two adults and a maximum of three children. Please get in touch if your needs differ.
What should parents and siblings wear for the photoshoot?
Clothing will be discussed on a call prior to your family studio session. As a guide reams and light/pastel colours work well for family portraits as well as earthy, neutral colours. Please avoid busy logos or patterns as they can distract from the subjects. Outfits don't need to match but choosing similar tones and styles help to tie the image together.
What if my children won't co -operate?
Children are unpredictable. This is completely normal and if your child is having a bad moment please don't worry. It can be a good idea to bring along some books or an ipad for the short breaks we will have in between images and this sometimes helps. Often when a child feels like they have to sit and smile at the camera this really has the opposite effect. I like to encourage them and chat whilst taking their photos which helps them forget that they need to sit still. The calmer and happier we all are the more the children will want to be a part of it.
A studio shoot is a great way to achieve timeless, fine art images that look wonderful framed around your home.
My portraiture aims to capture natural and authentic expressions within the controlled environment of the studio.
As always, the photo shoot should be fun, relaxing and enjoyable for everyone!
